Youth Award

The Youth Award recognizes a youth with a disability who has demonstrated excellence and perseverance in achieving a significant personal goal or in serving others.


Eligible Nominees

To be consider for this award eligible nominees include:

-Individuals who live, work or attend school in Ottawa, and who have a disability

-Those age 26 or younger

-Those who have been involved in the activities relevant to the nomination for a minimum of two years

Selection Factors

The Celebration of People Selection Committee will consider the following factors in evaluating nominees for the Youth Award:

-Are contributing their services to the community OR demonstrates commitment to achieving their goal(s) of personal significance

-Perseverance in the face of obstacles and/or challenges

-Contributions of nominee’s activities and achievements to advancing inclusion and accessibility of people with disabilities (whether children, youth or adults)

-The way the individual has served as a role model for other young people

Nomination Guidelines
