The Sports Award recognizes the initiative and commitment of a local athlete with a disability, or a team or organization that is inclusive of people with disabilities.

Eligible Nominees

To be consider for this award eligible nominees include:

-Ottawa residents who have a disability who participate in a sport or sports team (at any level of competition), OR Ottawa-based teams or organizations which include people with disabilities.

Selection Factors

The Celebration of People Selection Committee will consider the following factors in the evaluation of nominees for the Sports Award:

-For individuals: demonstration of commitment, courage and perseverance, and the barriers and challenges the person may have overcome to pursue their sport

-For teams and organizations: the degree to which they have exceeded their mandate and/or demonstrated leadership to promote sports activities for people with disabilities

-The Selection Committee may select two recipients in this category to recognize an individual and an organization

Nomination Guidelines

DEADLINES:

Early Bird Deadline: Monday September 24th, 2018 (enter draw for 2 free tickets)
